Fayne is a strange yet winning combination of historical fiction, coming-of-age and mystery, woven through with MacDonald’s trademark social commentary.
MacDonald’s storied career — pun intended — also includes playwriting, acting and broadcasting (CBC). She’s a household name to many Canadians, even those who have never read one of her books ( Fall on Your Knees, Adult Onset, The Way the Crow Flies).
Her first novel in eight years proves that MacDonald’s artistic skill continues to grow.
